Egypt’s presidency spokesperson has declared that the country will host a summit for Sudan’s neighboring countries on July 13th.
The summit aims to take steps towards resolving the ongoing crisis in Sudan and to prevent further bloodshed among the Sudanese people.
In light of the current crisis in Sudan, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is keen on formulating a shared vision among Sudan’s direct neighboring countries.
The goal is to take steps to resolve the crisis, prevent further bloodshed among the Sudanese people, and mitigate the negative impacts that the country is currently facing, the preservation of the Sudanese state and its capabilities is a priority, as well as limiting the severe impacts of the crisis on neighboring countries and the overall security and stability of the region.
The summit, which will take place on Thursday, July 13th, 2023, will discuss ways to end the current conflict and its negative repercussions on neighboring countries.
It will also establish effective mechanisms, in collaboration with neighboring countries, to peacefully resolve the crisis in Sudan, this will be coordinated with other regional and international pathways for crisis resolution.
