Supreme Administrative Court of Egypt Affirms Decision to Oust Mortada Mansour from Zamalek Club Presidency
The Supreme Administrative Court in Egypt has upheld a verdict that removed Mortada Mansour from his position as president of the Zamalek Club, the government’s appeal against the ruling was dismissed by the court, with unanimous agreement.
Mansour had also filed an appeal against the verdict issued by the Administrative Judiciary Court.
In his lawsuit, he named several defendants including the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Director of the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Giza, and the President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, he requested a suspension of the execution of the decision or alternatively, a ruling on the court’s lack of jurisdiction to hear the case.
The Administrative Judiciary Court had previously ruled in favor of Abdullah George and three others, who had filed a lawsuit to remove Mansour as president of the Zamalek Club.
This decision by the Supreme Administrative Court marks a significant development in the ongoing legal dispute over the leadership of the Zamalek Club.
