A young Egyptian student admitted to the Faculty of Science after passing the entrance exams and receiving the approval of the President of the Republic
The Egyptian Ministry of Education announced that President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi approved the acceptance of a primary school student directly to the Faculty of Science at Damietta University in the Nile Delta, without the need to pass all other educational stages, social media sites were abuzz with comments and interactions about this unprecedented decision.
The decision to enroll Yahya Abdel Nasser Mohamed, who studies at the Official Languages School in Damietta, was made after completing the necessary administrative procedures for his transfer, The student “Yahya” is considered a model for gifted students, For this reason, the Faculty of Science offered him to join the “Talented Program” at Zewail University with a full scholarship, in addition to supporting the student and his family from the state during his university studies, to help him achieve a scientific status that befits him.
The Ministry of Higher Education conducts an intelligence test known as the “IQ Test”, which is an international test to assess the competence of children, Based on the results of this test, students are eligible to enroll at Zewail University and take the test with other applicants.
The aptitude test includes the “STEM” test, which includes the following subjects: physics, chemistry, mathematics, and critical thinking, The test takes 4 hours and is implemented in the high school stage in Egypt, The aforementioned student achieved excellent results in this test, which made him among the top 10% of students who applied for the entrance exam.
The student took a two-hour English proficiency test and achieved an outstanding level that allows him to enroll in university directly without the need to participate in a preparatory course to learn English, The student also successfully passed the personal interview, and thus successfully passed the admission tests that qualify him to enroll at Zewail University for Science and Technology.
