Cairo, Egypt (September 19, 2023) – Gold prices in Egypt soared by 15% on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, after a morning decline.
The price of 21-carat gold, the most popular type of gold in Egypt, jumped by 15 Egyptian pounds to 2,225 Egyptian pounds per gram, up from 2,210 Egyptian pounds per gram on Monday.
The price of 24-carat gold, the purest form of gold, also rose by 17 Egyptian pounds to 2,542.75 Egyptian pounds per gram.
The sharp rise in gold prices came after a decline in the morning, when the price of 21-carat gold fell by 5 Egyptian pounds.
The cause of the price increase is unclear, but it may be due to a number of factors, including rising global inflation and concerns about a possible recession.
