«Breaking News»: Tunnels are disrupted and schools are closed in Fujian, China, as a result of “Typhoon Haikui”

Heavy rain fell from the remnants of “Typhoon Haikui”, which struck southeastern China early this morning, leaving torrential rains in a number of cities in “Fujian” Province, forcing the authorities to stop subway services, close schools, and evacuate tens of thousands of residents.

Evacuating citizens from their homes:-

The authorities evacuated more than 36,000 people from their homes, damaged electricity and communications lines, and flooded about 10,366 acres of agricultural land, causing losses that the state broadcaster in the region said amounted to 552.1 million yuan ($75 million).

Video footage published on social media showed that torrential waters flowed in the streets of Fuzhou and the city of Fuzhou, located to the south of it, causing damage to motorcycles, garbage cans, and stranding cars.

Record numbers not recorded in 12 years:-

Meteorological officials said the amount of rain that fell on the provincial capital, Fuzhou, exceeded records set 12 years ago, prompting warnings that 49 reservoirs were exceeding flood limits.
