Bride asks friend to make wedding cake, then got ‘offended’ when questioned if she’s paying for ingredients
There is a debate on social media about whether brides should ask their wedding guests to provide expensive services, such as big day cake bread, instead of gifts after sharing the bride’s online inquiry for discussion.
The bride asks if she’s wrong or not?
It appears that the unknown bride asked Facebook members whether she was wrong to be disturbed by the fact that her friend, who had commissioned her to make her wedding cake, asked whether she would be compensated for the ingredients.
Saying: “I asked my friend to make me a wedding cake for more than 75 people, and she came back to ask me if I was contributing to the cost of the cake, since making it would cost more than $300″, Am I wrong to be offended because she didn’t give me the cake as a wedding present?”
What do wedding experts think?
Megan Nova, New York City’s wedding organization, said that an unknown bride shouldn’t be mad at her friend for asking about her component cost contributions.
She said: “The wedding tradition and morality require the bride’s family to cover the cost of the wedding cake at the reception”.
