Russia Destroys Tons of Grains Destined for Egypt and Romania, Causing Global Food Insecurity.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, has confirmed that Russia has destroyed a significant amount of grains that were intended to be shipped to Egypt and Romania via Ukraine. In a post on the X website on Wednesday, Blinken stated that “the Kremlin has destroyed an additional 13,000 tons of grains that were meant to feed people in Egypt and Romania. Russian attacks on Ukrainian grain storage facilities, ships, and ports are leading to global hunger.”
The Kremlin has destroyed yet another 13,000 tons of grain headed to feed people in Egypt and Romania. Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian grain storage, ships, and ports are starving the world. Putin’s senseless war reaches far beyond Ukraine.

It should be noted that a deal for Black Sea grain exports was initially signed between Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey. However, Moscow withdrew from the agreement and refused to renew it. The agreement had allowed Russia to export Ukrainian grains through a humanitarian corridor established by the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, with the condition that Russian grains and fertilizers would also have access to the market. In exchange, Russia demands the lifting of Western restrictions on its exports of fertilizers, oils, and agricultural products.
The destruction of grains by Russia has had severe consequences not only on Ukraine but also on Egypt, Romania, and the global food supply chain. This act of aggression further exacerbates the issue of food insecurity, which is already a major concern widely discussed at the international level.
