Steven Gerrard Congratulates Mohamed Salah on Surpassing His Record at Liverpool

Former Liverpool legend and current Al Ittihad coach Steven Gerrard congratulated Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah on breaking his record with the English club.

During the Premier League’s second round Salah scored a goal against Bournemouth raising his tally to 187 goals for Liverpool in all competitions. With this achievement Salah surpassed Gerrard’s record of 186 goals and moved up to fifth place in the club’s all-time leading goalscorers.

Gerrard shared a picture on his Instagram account showing him watching the Liverpool vs. Bournemouth match while he was in Saudi Arabia. Alongside the photo he wrote “Mohamed Salah 187″ referring to the number of goals scored by the Egyptian international.

To honor Salah’s accomplishments Gerrard included a crown emoji symbolizing Salah’s nickname among Liverpool fans as the “Egyptian King.”
