What is the fate of the Manchester United star?

Manchester United published a statement on its official website explaining the position of star Mason Greenwood, who was accused of a sexual assault case last year and the club decided to suspend him.

Although the youngster was acquitted of the charge in February, Manchester United have refused to return to training so far and confirmed that they are investigating the case themselves.

The English club’s statement said that the decision to return Greenwood to the team or not has not yet been decided, and that all the news spread about the club’s decision and the fate of the player is not true.

The statement continued: “There are intensive internal deliberations to take the appropriate decision, and the club will announce it as soon as it is issued, we have responsibilities towards Mason as a player in the club, and one of its juniors since the age of seven, and we have now completed the fact-finding stage, and we are in the final stages of deciding on the future of the player.”

The club’s statement added: “Following the dropping of all charges against Mason Greenwood in February 2023, Manchester United has conducted a thorough investigation into the charges against him, this has been based on ample evidence, we have heard many people who have direct involvement or knowledge of the case and the alleged victim was a key element in the club’s enquiries, and we respect her right to remain anonymous for life.

Greenwood has not played for Manchester United since January 2022, a year and more ago.
