Matteo Alemany, director of football at Barcelona, commented on the news that Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar could return.
Neymar has been linked with a return to Barça, with French star Ousmane Dembele close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Alemany confirmed in a brief statement, highlighted by the newspaper Sport that the name of Neymar is not on the table, adding: “We are currently focusing on the file of departures, and the rest of the things are just press conversations.”
Saudi Al Hilal wants to sign Neymar
Neymar left Barcelona in the summer of 2017 to Paris Saint-Germain, after paying the value of the penalty clause in his contract (222 million euros).
There were strong reports about the desire of Saudi Al Hilal to sign Neymar this summer, as part of Saudi football’s plan to attract football stars.
Neymar, 31, is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until the summer of 2025, but some press reports said he had informed his club of his desire to leave.
Barcelona withdraw from deal to replace Dembele
Barcelona are heading to withdraw from the deal of one of the players nominated to compensate for the expected departure of Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris is on the cusp of signing Dembele from Barça, after the player submitted a request to leave the Catalan club, and only 50 million euros remain to settle the deal.
According to the newspaper “Sport”, Manchester City has rejected all attempts by Barcelona this summer to obtain the services of Bernardo Silva.
Manchester City insist on receiving more than 70 million euros to discuss Silva’s departure this summer.
The newspaper pointed out that the deal has become impossible against Barcelona, and coach Pep Guardiola told the player that the club can not agree to his departure without obtaining the required amount, in addition to the difficulty of signing a replacement.
