OPPO, the Chinese company, has started to halt the sale of its products within France as part of its preparation to exit the market and focus on other markets.
Fandroid, a French website, reported that “Yang Technology,” the exclusive distributor of OPPO in France, announced its decision to cease operations within the country.
Previous reports had indicated that both OPPO and OnePlus would withdraw from several European countries, including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
Despite the companies’ earlier denials of exiting any European market, they have already withdrawn from the German market.
OPPO, OnePlus, and Vivo are subsidiaries of the Chinese group “BBK Electronics,” which lost a legal battle against Nokia over a patent rights dispute, leading to their business termination in Germany, OPPO won a preliminary legal ruling in its favor against Nokia in France, nevertheless, the Chinese company remains determined to leave the French market, and it is expected that the rest of the companies in the group will follow suit.
In a related context, OPPO has already suspended its social media accounts in France several weeks ago.
In the future, customers within France will not be able to purchase OPPO products from the official distributor
Instead, they will have to buy from independent stores or neighboring European countries.
However, OPPO stated that its customers will still have access to after-sales services and receive upcoming system updates.
