According to a new report from Bloomberg, the expected specifications of the upcoming iPhone 15, set to be released in the fall of 2023, have been revealed.
The American tech giant is expected to announce the new generation of its smartphones during a special event usually held in September, as the date approaches, leaks, speculations, and various claims about the phones have been on the rise.
In the Sunday newsletter “Power On” by Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, the agency’s specialist in Apple news, summarized several leaks in a list of possible changes that customers can expect from the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.
Gurman’s report touched on improvements to the display, stating that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will feature “Dynamic Island,” a cutout portion around the front-facing camera used for displaying notifications and other items.
The report also mentioned Apple’s intention to use “Low Injection Pressure Overmolding” (LIPO) to reduce the bezels around the screen, according to Gurman, this technology will shrink the bezels from 2.2mm to just 1.5mm, and it may also be introduced in future iPad tablets.
Furthermore, the report indicated that both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will receive “significant camera improvements”, They will also be equipped with the A16 chip, similar to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
As for the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, they will come with the A17 chip built using 3-nanometer technology.
The expected camera changes may include updated lenses and sensors, as well as the use of a periscope lens in the Pro Max model.
Moreover, it is also rumored that Apple intends to use USB-C instead of the Lightning port in the upcoming phones, in response to European pressures.
Earlier leaks suggested that Apple would eliminate the physical volume buttons in the Pro and Pro Max phones, replacing them with advanced touch-responsive buttons, however, one major source later stated that this change will not happen.
Famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said, “My latest survey indicates that both flagship models, Pro and Pro Max, will retain the traditional design of physical volume buttons due to unresolved technical challenges before mass production.””
