Neom McLaren Racing Team Unveils World’s First AI-Designed Car Livery for Electric Racing Cars

Today, the “Neom McLaren Racing” team revealed the world’s first car livery designed using artificial intelligence, tailored for electric racing car structures, this innovative milestone coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of “McLaren Racing“, and the new livery will be showcased during the upcoming London Electric Car Race, scheduled for July 29th and 30th.

The creation of the livery was a collaborative effort between Neom and McLaren Racing, blending the futuristic design visions of drivers Rene Rast and Jake Hughes with input from four graduates from Neom’s development program, these visions were transformed into text descriptions of the desired models, which were then converted into specific artistic designs using AI technology, reflecting each participant’s unique perspective, the final six models were combined into one design, which was then integrated into a livery covering the exterior structure of the racing car, employing artificial intelligence throughout the creative process.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, expressed his delight at collaborating with Neom in creating the world’s first AI-designed racing car livery, adding, “As our car takes to the track in London this weekend, it marks a significant moment in celebrating McLaren Racing’s illustrious history while looking forward to more innovations in the future.”

Later this year, Saudi Arabian graduates who played a crucial role in designing the livery will join the “Neom McLaren Talent Development and Support Program,” They will engage in a 12-month developmental program with the team, part of an ongoing initiative that aims to empower Saudi graduates with the necessary expertise from McLaren, a renowned global performance institution.
