In a recent development, the Egyptian government has categorically denied the circulating rumors about a temporary halt on the importation of 23 types of goods for a span of three months, the Media Center of the Council of Ministers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, dismissed these speculations as baseless.
The rumors, which originated from various online platforms and social media pages, falsely attributed the import suspension instructions to the head of the Customs Authority, the Ministry of Finance has confirmed that these instructions do not exist and the circulated document is fabricated.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has also affirmed that no new decisions have been made to ban imports, both ministries have urged citizens to refrain from believing such falsehoods and to seek information from reliable sources.
The rumors in question had suggested a three-month suspension on the import of 23 goods, causing a stir on social media platforms.
