Tragic Death of a Two-Year-Old Jordanian Boy: Stray Bullet Claims Innocent Life

In a heart-wrenching incident that has sparked widespread outrage in Jordan, a two-year-old boy named Saif Al-Zan lost his life last Friday due to a stray bullet that struck him in the head, the incident occurred while Saif was playing with his peers in the courtyard of his home in the central Mamounia area in Madaba.

The bullet caused a severe laceration and bleeding, which led to the boy’s untimely demise.

In a swift response to the tragic incident, the investigative team from the Criminal Investigation Department and Madaba Police were able to identify and apprehend the shooter in record time, the weapon used in the incident was also seized.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, Colonel Amer Sartawi, stated that the special investigation team was able to conclude the investigations promptly, leading to the arrest of the shooter and the seizure of the weapon used, the suspect, upon interrogation, confessed to accidentally discharging the firearm while inspecting it.

The firearm was sent to the criminal laboratory for technical comparison, which confirmed it to be the weapon used in the incident, the case will now be referred to the judiciary for further proceedings.

The father of the deceased child, Rashid Al-Zan, mourned his son’s death with moving words on social media, he expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the loss of his child, blaming the recklessness of individuals who endanger the lives of others.
