Nantes Fines Egyptian Striker “Mustafa Mohamed” for Refusing to Play Wearing a Shirt Showing LGBT Support
Ligue 1 Uber Eats – French Football League: Nantes striker “Mustafa Mohamed” refused to participate with the first football team of Nantes against Toulouse, in the game that took place Sunday May 14th, afternoon, at the Toulouse Municipal Stadium, as part of the 35th round of the French league, as reported by L’Équipe.
Special slogans were launched to support LGBT people, with players wearing shirts with rainbow colors in the ten matches taking place this week.
Samuel Moutoussamy, captain and midfielder of Nantes’ first football team showed support for his teammate, Mustafa Mohamed.
It is worth mentioning that Mustafa Mohamed justified his reaction in a statement on his Twitter account, where he demanded respect for his personal beliefs.

Oliver Veran, French Health Minister and Government Spokesperson, expressed his dismay at the refusal of several players to wear shirts with rainbow symbols. He described their refusal as a crime, while the Minister of Sports called for sanctions.
