WhatsApp Beta for Android Introduces Enhanced Media Picker for Galaxy and Other Android Smartphones
Galaxy smartphones and other Android users participating in the WhatsApp beta program have started experiencing an improved media picker feature. The enhancement comes with the recent beta v2.23.13.6 update, available through the Google Play Store. A significant number of beta testers have reported encountering the updated media picker in their WhatsApp beta app.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android showcases a notable change in the media picker: numbered thumbnails. When users select multiple media files, the updated picker displays numbered thumbnails rather than the previous tick marks used to indicate selected files. This new feature allows WhatsApp users to easily see the number of files they have chosen at a glance, providing a clearer understanding of their selection.
Furthermore, the numbered media picker assists users in keeping track of their choices while selecting media. Although the tick mark system served its purpose, the enhanced media picker significantly improves the media selection experience. Media files are assigned numbers in the order they are selected.
According to WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp beta update for Android could also include information on compatibility with Meta Quest as a linked device in the future. The improved media picker and other features are currently accessible to select beta testers on Android, with plans to expand availability to more users in the near future.
