Linda Yaccarino Assumes Role as Twitter’s New CEO Amid Ad Revenue Challenges

Linda Yaccarino, former advertising chief at NBCUniversal, officially started her role as the new CEO of Twitter on Monday. Announcing her first day on the job, Yaccarino tweeted, “It happened — first day in the books!”

Yaccarino’s appointment comes a month after Twitter’s former CEO, Elon Musk, named her as his successor. Musk, who led the company since his $44 billion buyout in October, envisions Yaccarino as the driving force behind the development of an “everything app.”

Taking the reins at a critical time, Yaccarino faces the challenge of addressing Twitter’s significant drop in ad revenue. Her primary responsibilities will include devising and implementing strategies to reverse this trend and propel the company toward new growth opportunities.

Joining Yaccarino on Monday was former NBCUniversal executive Joe Benarroch, who previously oversaw communication strategy for the company’s Advertising and Partnerships division, reporting directly to Yaccarino. Benarroch’s expertise is expected to bolster Twitter’s efforts to revitalize its advertising business and strengthen industry partnerships.
