OnePlus 12R Launches with Advanced Features: A New Mid-Range Powerhouse

OnePlus has recently announced its new mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus 12R, as a successor to last year’s OnePlus 11R, featuring some significant upgrades.

Design and Display

The OnePlus 12R retains the design of its predecessor, the OnePlus 11R, and the flagship OnePlus 12, with the only exception being the placement of the alert slider, which is now on the left side of the device, it features an under-display fingerprint scanner and slightly curved edges, along with a 16-megapixel front camera.

The device boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED ProXDR display with a resolution of 2780×1264 pixels and a peak brightness of 4500 nits, the screen, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO 4.0 technology, allows switching between 90Hz and 72Hz refresh rates, it supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and has a DisplayMate A+ certification, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Camera and Processing Power

OnePlus has equipped the 12R with a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main lens with OIS and a Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the phone comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Cooling System and Battery

The device features an advanced cooling system, including a new dual graphite vapor chamber, ensuring optimal performance without overheating, the vapor chamber absorbs heat from the processor and distributes it to a larger chamber for dissipation.

The OnePlus 12R is powered by a 5500mAh battery, supporting 80W SUPERVOOC fast wired charging, it also incorporates the Battery Health Engine technology to maintain long-term battery health.

Software and Pricing

Running on Android 14, the OnePlus 12R is priced at $500 for the 8GB/128GB variant and $600 for the 16GB/256GB version.
