According to reports, French player Karim Benzema of Spanish team Real Madrid is close to finalizing a deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad to join them during the upcoming summer transfer window.
In the past few days, Al-Ittihad Jeddah has offered a deal to Benzema to obtain his services in a free transfer deal, especially since the player’s contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of June, which gives him the freedom to sign with any club.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, an agreement between the parties is now imminent. The newspaper indicates that the player hasn’t yet informed Real Madrid of his final decision, but despite this, he has already taken one and a half steps towards the Saudi league.
Benzema will move to Ittihad Jeddah
According to AS, Benzema reached out to his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to inquire about the Saudi league and life in the kingdom.
Benzema is expected to sign a two-year contract with Al-Ittihad in Jeddah, and will receive an annual salary of 100 million euros tax-free.
Cameras located outside Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s training center, captured Karim Benzema leaving with his agent. The footage confirms reports that he had a meeting with Florentino Perez, the club’s president, before the team’s training session today.
