According to U.S. sources, the explosion resulted in two fatalities and one injury, a 27-year-old man who is currently receiving treatment for minor injuries at Niagara Falls Hospital and is in stable condition.

In response to the incident, federal authorities have temporarily closed international border crossings between Canada and Western New York, including the Peace Bridge, Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, and the Whirlpool Bridge, to facilitate a thorough investigation.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a statement confirming their involvement: “The FBI is investigating a car explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing in Niagara Falls. We are coordinating with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. Given the ongoing nature of this situation, we can provide no further details at this time.”

The Rainbow Bridge connects Niagara Falls in New York to Niagara Falls in Canada, a region now under heightened scrutiny as authorities work to determine the cause and motive behind this alarming incident.
