Despite entering the fray in the second half, Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah’s night was marred by involvement in an own goal scored by Toulouse’s Christian Caceres.

The Anfield faithful’s frustration was palpable as Salah, usually a figure of Liverpool’s attacking prowess, found himself a part of the team’s misfortunes. It was not until the 89th minute that Diogo Jota managed to put Liverpool on the scoreboard again, but his efforts were too late to salvage the game.

Angry reactions have echoed across the fanbase, with much of the criticism aimed at Salah’s lackluster showing. The unexpected loss places Liverpool in a precarious position as they navigate through their European campaign.
