Nuno Santo Leaves Al-Ittihad

Al-Ittihad Saudi Club announced the departure of Portuguese coach Nuno Santo from the first football team, after the negative results that the Brigadier General achieved during the past period.

Al-Ittihad revealed through its official account on the social networking site “Twitter” earlier and “x” currently, about the departure of Santo, after the period he spent inside the Saudi club.

In the meantime, Saudi media reports revealed that the management of Al-Ittihad, headed by Anmar Al-Haili, was planning to leave Nuno Santo from training Al-Ittihad, after the negative results he achieved during the last period, the last of which was the loss to Al-Quwa Al-Iraqi by two clean goals, within the competitions of the AFC Champions League this season.

The Portuguese veteran coach did not succeed in proving himself during the current season, despite winning the Saudi League title last season.

Santo’s coaching career has seen him coach strong clubs, having led Wolverhampton and Tottenham Hotspur in England, while leading Al-Ittihad Saudi Arabia, after Anmar Al-Haili decided to return the Saudi team to the podiums, after years of being away from winning titles.

The fans of Al-Ittihad had launched a fierce attack on Nuno Santo, after the defeat in the Saudi League derby against Al-Hilal by four goals to three, in a match in which he was leading by a score of 3/1.

While the defeat of Al-Ahly was a painful and strong blow to the Brigadier General, as he lost three more points in the competition for the league title this season.
