OpenAI Enables Customization of ChatGPT for Subscribers and Businesses

OpenAI has announced the availability of customizing its artificial intelligence assistant, ChatGPT, for specific purposes tailored to users’ needs.

This feature will be accessible to subscribers of the paid version known as “ChatGPT Plus,” and it will also be open to corporate customers, allowing them to create customized versions of ChatGPT for their employees’ use during work.

Experts will be able to introduce their customized versions of ChatGPT into OpenAI’s upcoming marketplace, and designers will receive a share of the earnings based on usage rates, all without the need for any coding.

This announcement was made during OpenAI’s first developer conference held in San Francisco, approximately a year after the initial release of ChatGPT to the public.

OpenAI stated that since the launch of ChatGPT, customers have been seeking ways to tailor it to specific needs. Previously, the company introduced the “Custom Prompts” feature to help users specify preferences for ChatGPT when answering questions, with this new customization feature, users will have even greater control.

This new feature puts OpenAI in competition with other companies like Meta and Character.AI, which also empower users to customize artificial intelligence models according to their requirements.

The company emphasized that it will only accept custom models of ChatGPT, referred to as GPTs, from customers whose identities have been verified.

Designers of these models will not have access to users’ conversations. OpenAI will not accept any models that promote deception, hatred, or explicit content.

Furthermore, OpenAI has revealed price reductions and substantial improvements in performance and data in its GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-3.5 models. The GPT-4 Turbo model has been trained on up-to-date information until April 2023.

OpenAI has committed to protecting its customers from legal claims regarding copyright infringement by launching a program called “Copyright Shield,” as stated in their official announcement.

It’s worth noting that the current number of weekly users of the artificial intelligence assistant ChatGPT is 100 million.
