Renowned Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who recently criticized the tragic events unfolding in the Palestinian territories, has once again expressed her condemnation for the dire situation faced by the people of Gaza. She took to her Instagram account to share an image from the aftermath of the Israeli attack on Jabalia camp, which resulted in hundreds of casualties, including widespread destruction.
In her Instagram post, Jolie wrote, “This deliberate shelling of besieged civilians, with nowhere to escape, has turned Gaza into an open-air prison for nearly two decades. It is swiftly becoming a mass grave.”

She continued, highlighting the heartbreaking statistics: “40% of the casualties are innocent children, and entire families are being wiped out. While the world watches, with the support of various governments, millions of Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and families, endure collective punishment. They are stripped of their humanity, deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid. This contradicts international law, as the UN Security Council fails to impose a ceasefire on both sides, making world leaders complicit in these crimes.”
The Gaza Interior Ministry reported that the initial estimate of casualties from the Israeli shelling on Jabalia camp stands at around 400 killed and wounded, with the majority being women and children.
Angelina Jolie had previously commented on the renewed conflict between Israel and Hamas a few days ago, emphasizing that “Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7th does not justify the loss of innocent lives due to the shelling of civilian populations in Gaza.”
In her Instagram statement, she lamented the dire circumstances faced by Gazans: “They have nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no means of evacuation, not even the basic human right to cross borders in search of refuge.”

She also pointed out that her focus is on displaced persons due to violence, highlighting that “over a million people, half of whom are children, have been living under a severe blockade in Gaza for almost two decades, along with decades of displacement and statelessness.”
Jolie concluded her message by stating, “Every little bit that can prevent more civilian casualties and save lives must be done. Like many others, I have made donations to medical relief efforts. I have chosen to support the work of Doctors Without Borders and closely follow their reports.”
This powerful statement from Angelina Jolie underscores the urgency of the situation in Gaza and calls for international action to address the ongoing crisis. The world continues to watch as the people of Gaza endure unimaginable hardships in their pursuit of a peaceful and secure life.
