Microsoft announced on Tuesday the release of its new version for the year 2023 of the Windows 11 operating system, named Windows 11 32H2, this release serves as a significant update for the operating system and represents the next step in the company’s product development.
Previously, Microsoft began rolling out the Windows 11 23H2 update in September for subscribers in the Release Review Channel, sharing the same codebase and service branch with the Windows 11 22H2 update from 2022.
John Cable, Microsoft’s Vice President of Windows Services and Delivery, emphasized that the 2023 update of Windows 11 will be delivered using a technology called servicing, ensuring a fast installation experience for users.
Users with qualifying devices running Windows 11 for the year 2022 can choose to update to the 2023 version by navigating to Settings, Windows Update, and then selecting “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available,” followed by “Check for updates.”
Although the 2023 update is currently available only to seekers, Microsoft will begin automatic distribution to eligible devices in the coming months.
However, the company may perform proactive pause operations for devices facing issues to ensure compatibility.
The new features for the 2023 update of Windows 11 include technologies like the AI-based assistant Copilot, an updated File Explorer, support for dynamic lighting, improvements to the Windows Ink feature, a refreshed Windows Spotlight experience, and a detailed power consumption report.
These enhancements continue the annual feature update pace for Windows 11, demonstrating Microsoft’s commitment to delivering advanced products and an exceptional user experience.
