In a remarkable feat, Max Verstappen, the Red Bull Racing driver and three-time Formula 1 World Champion, has set a new record by clinching his 16th victory in a single season of the Formula 1 World Championship. This historic achievement came after his win at the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday.
Verstappen, a 26-year-old Dutch racing prodigy, has not only secured his 16th win of the season but also marked his 51st career victory, equaling the record of the legendary French driver, Alain Prost, who is regarded as the fourth most successful driver in the history of Formula 1.

The young Dutch sensation is now well within striking distance of Sebastian Vettel, who stands third on the list of the most successful Formula 1 drivers in terms of victories, with 53 wins. With the current season still in progress, Verstappen’s pursuit of this milestone is eagerly awaited by motorsport enthusiasts worldwide.
Max Verstappen’s victory in the Mexican Grand Prix is a testament to his consistency and dominance in the sport. This triumph marks his 14th win in the last 15 races and the fifth victory in six editions of the race at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit.

In his post-race remarks, Verstappen expressed his delight, saying, “We’re having an amazing season. Today, we had to start from third place, but I think the car’s speed was incredibly good,” as reported by Reuters.
The Mexican Grand Prix also witnessed Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes driver, claiming the second position on the podium and setting the fastest lap. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, driving for Ferrari, secured the third position in the race, despite a strong collision involving Kevin Magnussen of the Haas team, which led to the race being halted during the first lap.
In a surprising turn of events, Sergio Perez, the Red Bull driver and the home crowd’s favorite, had to withdraw from the race after an early collision with Leclerc in the first corner of the first lap.
