Amazon is currently testing a trial version of AI-powered image generation tools for its advertisers, this development provides an easy way to create backgrounds or scenes for any product that advertisers wish to promote.
Over the past two decades, advancements in data science, analytics, and artificial intelligence have significantly improved the efficiency of digital advertising.
According to an Amazon survey conducted in March 2023, approximately 75% of advertisers who struggled to launch successful campaigns cited the main challenge as creating compelling ad designs and choosing creative formats.
Generating attractive and distinctive designs can be costly and often requires additional expertise in the advertising process. As a result, Amazon is constantly exploring ways to alleviate advertisers’ challenges and provide them with tools that deliver substantial impact with minimal effort, this approach helps deliver a superior advertising experience for customers.
The company indicates that this new feature is designed to remove creative barriers, empowering brands to produce contemporary images that enhance the performance of their advertisements, it proves particularly valuable for brands struggling with typical product images against a white background. Amazon suggests that placing products in a lifestyle context could lead to a 40% increase in click-through rates.
Amazon stated, “This solution is beneficial for advertisers of all sizes, enabling those without in-house capabilities to easily create branded images. The ability to generate user-friendly images does not require any technical expertise.”
Previously, the company employed generative AI to assist sellers in crafting persuasive product listings. Sellers provided a concise product description in a few words or sentences, and generative AI then expanded upon the description.
The new feature operates by entering a request, followed by receiving multiple results to choose from. Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon, expressed that every team in the company is exploring and collaborating with generative AI. Amazon initiated the feature for specific advertisers and plans to expand its availability over time.
