As usual, the Chinese market receives larger, longer, and more spacious models compared to their global counterparts.
The latest example of this is the new Chinese version of the Mercedes E-Class, which Mercedes unveiled this week with a longer wheelbase than the global model.
The Chinese version of the Mercedes E-Class stands out with its longer rear doors and a more spacious rear seat area, providing ample legroom and comfort, giving the car a luxurious feel similar to the opulent Maybach editions.
The dimensions of the Chinese version are as follows: 5092 millimeters in length, which is 143 millimeters longer than the global model.
The rest of the exterior and interior design features remain the same as the global E-Class.
The Chinese version shares the same dashboard as the global model, including the new Mercedes Hyperscreen, which combines three large screens for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system.
Luxury sedan features include neck heating and ventilation in the rear headrests, multiple wireless chargers for mobile devices, an advanced Burmester audio system with seat vibration feature, and comfortable ambient lighting.
For performance, the new Chinese Mercedes E-Class relies on a 4-cylinder engine with either 204 or 258 horsepower, depending on the trim, along with a rear-wheel steering system and an air suspension.
Mercedes will begin selling the new Chinese E-Class with the long wheelbase in the coming weeks.
