He did not answer the calls of his army minister! Channel 13: Disagreements between Netanyahu and Gallant over the details of the war and its expansion
On the evening of Sunday, October 15, 2023, Israeli Channel 13 revealed a dispute between the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Defense Minister, Ya’akov Galant, regarding the ground military operation in Gaza and the expansion of fronts, while on the same day, there was an escalation of the northern front along the Lebanese border.
A disagreement arose at the highest levels of the state about the continuation of the campaign on the northern front.
Defense Minister Ya’akov Galant supported expanding strikes against Hezbollah, whereas Netanyahu opposed it, according to the channel.
In the backdrop of the conflict, a highly contentious incident occurred in the Israeli Defense Ministry base in Tel Aviv in recent days when Galant requested a phone conversation with Netanyahu regarding operational matters, but Netanyahu’s office postponed the call.
Following this, Galant sent his chief of staff to the Prime Minister’s office, but he was left standing at the door and denied entry.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that Israel has postponed the planned ground operation against Gaza by a few days due to adverse weather conditions in the region.
The newspaper stated, according to statements from three Israeli officials, that the “ground operation” planned by Tel Aviv against Gaza has been delayed due to the unfavorable weather conditions, which would pose difficulties for pilots and aerial drones during their support for ground forces, thus leading to a postponement of the operation for a few days.
For the ninth consecutive day since October 7, 2023, the Israeli Defense Forces have continued their airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in the death of 2,329 Palestinians, including approximately 700 children, and injuring 9,042 others, according to the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, the “Operation Aqsa Tempest” has led to the death of over 1,300 Israelis, injuries to 3,715, and the capture of more than a hundred others, according to official Israeli sources.
The residents of Gaza, numbering around 2.2 million Palestinians, continue to suffer from extremely dire living conditions due to the ongoing Israeli blockade since Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections in 2006.
