OpenAI Announces Major Updates Aimed at Making AI Applications Faster and More Affordable

Reuters reported today, citing informed sources, that OpenAI is planning to introduce significant updates for developers next month, the goal is to streamline the development of AI-based software applications, making them more cost-effective and faster.

OpenAI, renowned for its widely popular chatbot ChatGPT, seeks to attract more companies to leverage its technology.

According to Reuters, these updates include adding memory storage space to developer’s tools for utilizing artificial intelligence models, the theoretical outcome of these updates could reduce the costs incurred by app developers by up to 20 times, addressing the primary concern for partners who have been rapidly accumulating expenses related to OpenAI’s models, this, in turn, supports the sustainable growth of AI software development and sales.

The company also plans to unveil new tools, such as vision capabilities that empower developers to create applications with image analysis and description functions, which could find applications in various fields, from entertainment to medicine.

OpenAI, initially founded as a non-profit organization in 2015 with support from Elon Musk and Sam Altman, is set to introduce these new features at its inaugural developer conference scheduled for November 6th in San Francisco, California.

Sources, who requested anonymity for confidentiality, stated that these new features are designed to encourage companies to use OpenAI’s technology to build chatbots and independent AI agents capable of performing tasks without human intervention.

OpenAI made a significant entrance into the scene in November when it launched ChatGPT, the chatbot quickly garnered the interest of hundreds of millions of users as it provided human-like responses to questions and commands, making it one of the fastest-growing consumer applications globally.

Following this immense success, OpenAI has ambitious expectations for its sales. According to a Reuters report published in December, the company’s executives anticipate closing this year with revenues of around $200 million and aiming for a billion-dollar revenue by 2024, this demonstrates a substantial transformation, considering OpenAI’s initial status as a non-profit organization.
