Samsung Electronics Middle East and North Africa (MENA) has announced that its fifth-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5, have surpassed sales of their predecessors in key markets, specifically in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Turkey.
In a blog post, the South Korean tech giant revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip5 took the lead due to a remarkable surge in demand, accounting for 54% of total sales, Among buyers, the “Graphite” and “Mint” colors were the top choices, capturing 33% and 29% of sales, respectively, Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold5 stood out with its “Phantom Black” and “Ice Blue” color options, making up 44% and 37% of total sales, respectively.
Samsung also noted a noteworthy trend where the 1-terabyte storage option for the Galaxy Z Fold5 saw a fourfold increase compared to its predecessor, signaling a promising future for high-capacity storage in the world of smartphones.
Commenting on this achievement, Christian Schmiedt, Vice President of Samsung in the Middle East and North Africa region, said, “We are delighted to achieve these impressive sales figures, confirming the innovative features that meet our customers’ needs through the latest Galaxy Z series. Additionally, this demand for the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 underscores the growing momentum of foldable phones as a prevailing trend in the markets.”
Samsung highlighted that the Galaxy Z Flip5, designed to provide a unique and foldable pocket-sized experience, received widespread acclaim for its distinctive design and enhanced feature, including the Flex Window, which is 3.78 times larger than the previous generation, offering an unparalleled user experience.
As for the Galaxy Z Fold5, it is characterized by its expansive large display and long-lasting battery, delivering the most powerful performance in the Galaxy Z series. It is also the slimmest and lightest foldable smartphone Samsung has ever produced.
