Cybersecurity firm McAfee has launched a new tool for combating online fraud, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The company’s new tool employs patented technology that uses AI and machine learning to combat cybercriminals who are increasingly carrying out more convincing and widespread fraudulent operations on the internet.
This new tool is aimed at detecting phishing operations that occur globally, targeting the theft or compromise of sensitive data by deceiving individuals into revealing personal information such as passwords and credit card numbers.
According to McAfee, phishing operations have become more sophisticated, with cybercriminals themselves using artificial intelligence to create highly convincing and personalized fraudulent schemes, making it difficult for individuals to distinguish between legitimate and fake messages.
McAfee’s fraud-fighting tool, known as McAfee Scam Protection, adopts a proactive approach to automatically detect and halt fraudulent activities, the tool uses artificial intelligence techniques to identify malicious internet links and then alerts users to prevent them from clicking on them. Even if clicked accidentally, the tool will stop suspicious websites from loading.
McAfee’s new tool continually analyzes and processes millions of malicious links worldwide, enhancing its ability to detect fraudulent operations.
The new tool will be available within the McAfee Mobile Security app for both Android and iOS devices.
