The National Health Commission said in a statement that monkeypox falls under category B and will be dealt with under the protocols of this category, and under this category, China can take emergency measures such as banning gatherings, suspending work and schools, or closing some places in the event of an outbreak.

COVID-19 Category B

Category B for infectious diseases currently includes COVID-19, AIDS and severe acute respiratory infection (SARS), and the committee said it had detected the top 20 provinces in China with monkeypox cases since the first imported case was recorded on September 20, 2022.

The spread of cases locally began in June 2023, which led to continued outbreaks and transmission.

China classification of infectious diseases

China classifies infectious diseases into three categories, and category A, the highest, gives authorities the right to isolate patients and their contacts.

China redefines globalization and does not recognize US hegemony

Ambassador Hussein Haridi, former assistant foreign minister, said that the capitalist system is accompanied by democracy in the Western world, but China has been able to change this equation by shifting to capitalism, despite the lack of democracy in the Western form.

U.S. hegemony over the international system

Haridi continued, during his interview with the media Nashat Al-Daihi, program «scene», broadcast on satellite «ten», on Wednesday evening, that China does not recognize Western values or American hegemony over the international system, pointing out that China redefines globalization, and prevents the imposition of any particular bloc on the international system.

He added that US President Joe Biden banned the export of advanced chips to China, in an attempt to stop Chinese progress, although the Chinese company Huawei was able to manufacture a very advanced phone, and the United States is currently investigating to find out how Beijing was able to manufacture this advanced phone, despite preventing the export of American electronic chips.

USA pushes NATO to crisis with China

He added that the United States since 2021 has been using Taiwan to exhaust Beijing, and was able to attract the European Union and NATO in this matter, for the first time since the establishment of the alliance, the alliance mentioned China in the main document of the alliance as a threat to the West, and the United States began to form an Asian “NATO” in an attempt to contain China, within regional borders.

He added that India is fully aware of the balances in international relations, and does not want to be fully inclined to the United States, because it has interests with China, noting that the international system is now characterized by great liquidity, and the balance of power between countries is changing, as the United States is no longer the only pole that rules the world.
