«Breaking News»: A 7-magnitude earthquake hits Morocco

The Moroccan Center for Geophysics (National Institute of Geophysics) announced this morning, Saturday, September 9, 2023, that an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale occurred in southeastern Morocco, specifically in the “Al-Haouz” province.

The Moroccan Center for Geophysics also stated that the origin of the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 10.7 kilometers and was 368 kilometers away from the “Rabat” region.

The following video also shows children crying and citizens fleeing from their homes and gathering places to the streets where the danger is less.

The Moroccan Ministry of Interior also announced in a preliminary estimate that 296 people were killed and 153 others were injured and taken to hospitals following the earthquake that struck the country today.

There were also reports of many material losses in the cities adjacent to the earthquake area.

Report of the Volcano Discovery Center:-

According to the Volcano Discovery Center for Geoscience Research, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8, which occurred late on Friday evening, and was at a depth of about 18.5 kilometers.
